So this is not the first time you all have seen this yellow gingham dress. It's the same dress in my 'What I Read In June' post. Ok, now I am getting off topic. Haha sorry about that! Let's get back to talking about this dress.
Yellow Gingham Dress
This is a maxi dress and it's super flowy. You'll notice there is a slight difference between how my dress looks and what it looks like on the retailer's site. On the retailer's site, there is a tie that goes across the chest where the v-neck dips. The dress does not come with the tie. When I received this dress in the mail, I thought they sent me a damaged one because the tie was missing. Turns out, it's not and it is noted on the retailer's site. So deceiving. But overall not a big deal.
I love that this dress is yellow, flowy, and maxi length. It's just too perfect for Summer. The fabric is very light so it is great for hot weather and is not see-through at all. As you can tell, I enjoyed twirling in this dress a lot.
One thing to note is that the v-neck is very low. So if that is something you are uncomfortable with, you may need to reconsider it. I didn't mind it because I didn't think it was too revealing and I thought it was done in a classy way. You can make adjustments by tightening (or loosening) the straps. However, if you are on the busty side, I'm not quite sure if it will work to be honest. But if you really love the dress, give it a try and hopefully it does work out!

Sizing & Fit
Before I share the fit and size I purchased, I thought I'd share my size and body type. Hopefully, this gives you a better idea when I describe the fit.
My height is 5'4″, weight 140 lbs, and my chest size is 32C. My body is kinda weird because it's pretty much a straight body type except for my butt. I have a bubble butt.
For tops and dresses, I usually wear a small or size 4. For bottoms, such as pants, jeans, or skirts, I usually wear a size small, size 4, or size 25.
So my conclusion with this yellow gingham dress is that it runs slightly large and I ended up sizing down to an XS. It's still pretty roomy as an XS, but I think that's the style of it. The length is fine. I would prefer it to be an inch shorter, but overall I wasn't stepping all over my dress.
Most Comfortable Sandals
You all know I swear by Naturalizer as one of my go-to shoe brands. Their shoes are soooo comfortable and so cute! My white sandals are from Naturalizer. I took advantage of purchasing a few new summer sandals when they were having a storewide sale.
Love these white sandals and pretty much have worn them in several summer outfits. They go with everything and I highly recommend them. They fit true to size. My shoe size is 7.5 and I'm wearing a size 7.5
Summer Season & Temperatures
Side note, how are we more than halfway done with Summer?!?! I know this is an unpopular opinion, but Summer truly is my favorite season. I love the heat and the ease and effortlessness of the season. Summer, especially Summer nights, in Chicago is so magical! I mean just look at this photo! It looks like a movie scene doesn't it? Somehow the lighting and colors remind me of the movie Midnight in Paris. The one with Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams.
Most people's favorite season is Fall. I love early Fall and seeing the leaves change, but the shorter days and the cooler temperatures remind me that Winter is coming and I HATE wearing too many layers haha.
I also think genetically my body can handle hot temperatures. The only time I can ever remember being really hot was when I was 10 years old (or maybe 9?) and my family and I were in the Philippines. We probably went the hottest month ever… June. Most people find their summer season unbearable. But yeah otherwise, even though it is 100 degrees I'm typically okay as long as I'm constantly drinking water.
